Wellness Plans (COMING SOON!)
Our Pet Wellness Plan is a proactive and comprehensive health care program designed to keep your pet in optimal health throughout their life.
It focuses on preventative care and early detection via regular health checks to ensure your pet stays happy, healthy, and free from serious health issues.
Dental Care
Dental hygiene is incredibly important for our furry friends. Dental disease is extremely common and can impact their overall health and quality of life. Here’s why dental care matters:
- Prevents pain and discomfort: gum disease, tooth decay and infections can be very painful for pets.
- Prevents serious health problems: poor dental hygiene can lead to more than bad breath. Bad bacteria from infected teeth and gums can enter the bloodstream, affecting vital organs such as the heart, kidneys and liver.
- Promotes fresh breath.
- Improves overall well-being: pets with healthy teeth and gums tend to eat better, be more active and enjoy life more.
- Prevents tooth loss: untreated dental issues can lead to tooth loss.
- We can offer dental checks to advise you on how to care for your pet’s teeth. This may include tooth brushing, dental chews and toys, scale and polish or extractions if required.
Diagnostics
- Blood tests: we offer a range of blood tests in-house but for more specialized tests we may recommend sending blood off to an external lab. Blood tests in-house include general health profiles, thyroid testing, progesterone testing, and monitoring for pets on certain medications.
- Urine testing
- Faecal testing
- Skin tests (including ringworm testing, parasite investigation and allergy testing)
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Digital x-ray
- Pregnancy diagnosis
- Abdominal ultrasound
- Heart scans
- ECG
- Lump biopsies
Surgery
We are fully equipped to offer a range of surgeries for your pets, from routine procedures to more complex surgeries.
Before any surgery, we will discuss the benefits and risks associated with the procedure to ensure you are fully informed and comfortable with the decision.
Our experienced team will take the utmost care to ensure your pet’s safety and well-being throughout the process from pre-surgery assessments to post-operative care. You can rest assured your pet is in safe hands, and we will provide constant support and guidance throughout their recovery to ensure the best possible outcome.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss a potential surgery for your pet, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us. We’re here to help every step of the way.
Out of Hours
Pets can get sick or have emergencies at any time, including holidays, which is why we offer 24-hour veterinary care.
There’s always a vet on call, ready to help when you need it most.
Whether it’s a late-night emergency or an urgent concern over the weekend, you can count on us for expert care at any time.
If you need assistance, don’t hesitate to give us a call—we’re here to ensure your pet receives the care they need, whenever they need it.
Microchipping
We recommend microchipping your dogs and cats as it provides a permanent, reliable way to ensure your pet can be safely returned to you if they get lost.
It’s important to keep your details up to date if you move address or your phone number changes.
It is a legal requirement to have your dog microchipped.
A microchip is a simple and quick procedure, much like a regular vaccination with minimal discomfort for your pet.
Repeat Medication Service
Our repeat prescription service is for clients of Aeron Vets only. Therefore, you and your pet must be registered with us and have been seen recently by one of our vets. This is a legal requirement for us to confirm that your pet is under our care.
These requests have to be reviewed by a vet and your pet may need to be seen before we can issue their medication. Your pet must have been seen by one of our vets at least once in the last 12 months. For many long-term medications, more frequent visits may be required to monitor your pet’s health.
Please provide 48 hours’ notice when requesting a repeat prescription to ensure we can process it in a timely manner.
We can also offer written prescriptions for a fee. However, please note that we take no responsibility for the medications supplied to you by a third-party supplier.
Pet Travel
We can provide the necessary health checks, blood tests and Animal Health Certificates your pet requires to travel overseas.
For travel to an EU country or Northern Ireland, we recommend contacting us one month before (providing your pet has a valid rabies vaccination), whilst travel outside of the EU will require a longer lead time.
